You don’t have to take on a big painting project to freshen up rooms with color. Designers do it by strategically placing small colorful objects – pillows, decorative boxes, and a collection of glass bottles. Smaller pieces of furniture, like side table, desk lamps, can also weave more color into your space.

 

Pink

Pink is a great way to wake up a room because they are lively and unexpected. Fuchsia mixes well with cool colors such as gray, white, and navy.

Ice Blue

Try mirrored side table or a silver lamp base with a cool gray or white shade. Even small objects on a table – silver frames, or a vase, or a group of metallic balls will ramp up the shine factor.

Toilet Parts: 2 Common Culprits of Toilet Leaks

Culprits of Toilet LeaksWhen a toilet leaks or does not shut off as it should, the common culprits are usually the flapper or the trip lever and these toilet parts should be properly salvaged or replaced entirely to avoid future problems.

First however, you should pinpoint where the leak comes from by performing some simple tests without using any fancy testing equipment. Fill the tank with water and then shut off the water supply with the valve. Accurately place a mark on the tank’s current water level and check it again the next day. A drop in the water level indicates a problem with either the flush valve or flapper.

To pinpoint what toilet part is causing the issue, simply hold down the handle so that the tank water meets the water level where the valve and flapper meet. Check the next day. The flapper is faulty if you don’t see a drop in water level. On the other hand, a leak or inconsistent flushing can also indicate an issue with the trip lever. Below is a guide for replacing the flapper and the trip lever in no time.

To replace the flapper, turn off the water supply to your toilet and remove the tank cover. Flush and hold down the handle until such time that water doesn’t flow out the tank and to the toilet bowl. Next, detach the arm of the trip lever from the chain of the flapper, slide the flapper’s arms off the flush valve’s plastic pegs, and remove the broken flapper.

Once the faulty flapper is removed, get the new flapper and slide the flapper arms gingerly over the flush valve’s plastic pegs. Attach the chain to the arm of the trip lever and position the chain’s clip so that it has some slack on it if the flapper is closed. Make sure to use the trip lever arm’s hole where the broken flapper was attached to. Lastly, turn on the water supply and when the tank fills up test the flush to see if the flapper works properly.

Culprits of Toilet Leaks

As for the trip lever, first, disconnect the rod of the trip lever from the flapper chain and remove the screw inside the water tank that holds the handle together. Note that this is a reverse-threaded locknut so you have to unscrew in the opposite orientation from the typical thread. When you’ve disconnected the locknut from the rod, pull out the assembly of the trip lever from the hole in the tank.

Next, get the new handle and carefully screw it on. Make sure not to tighten it too much so that the threads won’t be stripped. Lastly, reconnect the chain of the flapper to the rod of the trip lever and make sure to leave some slack on the flapper chain.

How Little Do We Know What’s in a Vet’s Clinic?

Pet lovers would know what to expect or what to see in a veterinarian’s clinic. This would be a normal place for them to visit every so often and needed by their cute pets. It is not only for treating the animals of common sickness like loss of appetite, fatigue, dog infection, and others.  Many would come in the clinic on a regular basis so to make sure that the pets are in good health condition at all times. Taking time to review their records will help you a lot on monitoring them.

A veterinarian is just the same like the human’s doctors so their clinic is likely very much the same.  It may have a small reception with waiting benches on the sides, a small center table, a glass shelf that probably holds the doc’s certificates and merits for everyone to see. This is the doc’s way of sharing his knowledge and performance of how good a vet he is.

Being an animal’s doctor, you care for them, you feed them, you look after them, and more. It is a full service job dedication to your pet.  It will be normal to compromise and understand the needs of the pets. Anything about your pet dog or others should be given to the vet so to for him to understand what is its history and what is happening to it. Do not worry that information and details will leak. It will be very much safe.  Should clients or pet owners want to change vets, their records would either just stay there for record purposes. However, if you are not comfortable, putting all to a paper shredder will make you feel secured.

There is more little stuff that you would notice inside the veterinary clinic and how it looks the same to a normal clinic. The beds, the scales, the tools that vets and doctors use, the supply of medicines and others.  Another thing is it seems that all clinics never run out of cottons don’t they. It is like they have their own cotton machinein there to supply all patients.

Caring for the pets is what a vet does, his clinic is there for them to be taken care of and be treated when they get sick. It is there too to make sure that their health are monitored and checked regularly.

The young CEO has been struggling since he lost some billions of dollars since Facebook’s market debut and his company’s crumbling stock price. Facebook is currently the leading social network site that connects people around the world. You can build your own network of friends, business partners, and even “frenemies”. The young businessman is currently soothing investors and asking to be patient as they build new products, improving apps, and clearing the smartphone rumors.

Speaking of smartphone, the unveiling of the iPhone 5 is scheduled today September 12, 2012 in San Francisco. People are eager to see what the new iPhone has to offer. With leaked photos circling around the internet, the new iPhone 5 has bigger screens, new earphones that might enhanced the audio output, new docking station and the 4G network. It seems that the SIM card will be a lot smaller as well. Vodafone UK has confirmed a stockpile of 500,000 nano SIMs ready to use in the iPhone 5. A lot of rumors have been surfacing the web for the past months and the time has finally come. The new iPhone 5 is likely to be available for pre orders by September 14 2012 and is tipped that it’s going to hit the high shelves later on September 21 according to metro.co.uk. Analysts expect that the iPhone 5 will be the fastest selling smartphone of all time.

A Racoon Experiment

Raccoons are cute and smart animals. They are pretty playful as well when they are not hostile to people. Their cute little looks can be deceiving as well since they do carry rabies and are not afraid to use it when needed. I read some interesting raccoon facts a few days ago about their interest in shiny objects. Raccoons are so attracted to shiny objects that they won’t be able to let it go even if it would cost their life. We tried a little experiment to see if it’s true. We prepared a little storage for the little guy in case we’ll be lucky to catch one. We set it up right after my cousin’s birthday party so the people would be quite busy to notice what we’re doing. We have a Pringle’s can set up near a tree with a shiny ball inside it and wait for the catch. We followed the instructions on the website guide we read but the raccoon was nowhere to be seen. Usually, we would have some unexpected visits from them in around dusk time. My eyes are already red from the contacts that I’m wearing, which I’m supposed to drop some solutions earlier but I wanted to see the action. After 4 hours of wait, we gave up and call it a day. We left the can though hoping we would have a catch by the morning but I guess the raccoons have realized our plan and decided not to show up.

When it is Over: Tips to Rid of Clingy Exes

Break-ups are really hard to get over with. Even if you both say that it is a mutual break-up. One of you would suffer more than the other, this is a real deal. Many have pined over their past relationships much longer than needed. Some could not totally move on with their lives hoping that the ex will finally come back. Letting go hurts but it has to be done. It may sound mean but the ways to get over and deal with clingy exes are necessary.

 

Talk. Most often than not, talking things over helps solve many problems, and clingy exes have to be told in many different ways that the relationship is totally over.  If the ex keeps calling and asking to come over just for a cup of coffee, always make sure to say no. letting her/him in your place will make her reminisce the old happy moments you spent together and it would not help the situation.

 

Avoid. If talking things does not help much, give her/him the reverse psychology approach. Avoid. If the calls keep coming and the invites keep going, make sure that you give a very good excuse why you cannot make it. If he/she knows where you work and come over just to say hi, appear to be very busy and that you cannot spare a moment to sit down and chat.

 

Ignore. This is a strategy that usually hurts but works very well when you are trying to show the ex that everything is totally over. It is never easy to tell and show how things are not working out. It will deeply hurt so much but it has to be done. Ignoring someone will be very painful but it is the last resort that you can do to send the clear message that it is over. Doing this needs guts and firmness. Once you slip, it will be a slim chance that he/she will take to slip back into your life.

 

Detach. Total detachment should be the worst case scenario to get rid of clingy exes. Total detachment would literally include change of contact numbers which includes landline, mobile phone, email address, IM messages handle, change of home address, and to some extent probably a change of name.

 

These tips may sound pretty mean but it is the truth. By not doing any of these when you broke up will only worsen the scenario. It will only make the exes think that the break up is temporary and you are just needing some breathing space. False hope is always a great motivation for exes to think they can get back into your life again at the right time if he/she patiently waits.
